Redesigning the bedroom shouldn’t be hard at all, it is actually fun because you have the chance to explore your personal style. Most of us would want to sleep in a bedroom where it will allow us to relax and be comfortable. After a long day, who wouldn’t want to stay in a place that calms you? A warm and cozy bedroom is ideal if you are the laid-back type of person. Let’s start with the paint, choose colors that belong to the warm neutral or earthy group. Eggshell is a nice color or maybe warm beige or light yellow. If you want it darker or more unconventional, go for warm sage, shades of orange or red.

For your floor, a carpet is always a nice addition or perhaps a fluffy rug. If you have pastel or light-colored walls, add some contrast by putting up darker colored curtains. If you want to use patterned fabrics you can go ahead and do so but don’t choose something that is too loud if you want to retain the cozy atmosphere in your bedroom. For your bed, choose something that doesn’t look so stiff, go for a big comfortable bed and make sure you add in some throw pillows to complete the look.

What about your lighting? Do away with fluorescent light or anything that emits crisp white light. Consider using a combination of floor, table and wall lighting apart from the ceiling light. Go for soft lights. Don’t try to light every single corner but rather focus on a focal point to add more drama to your bedroom. Candles are also good accessories for your room aside from they effectively absorb odors. You can also put an oil burner or warmer with your favorite scent. I personally like vanilla or creamy caramel. There are plenty of scents available like apple, cinnamon, orange, pumpkin spice, honeydew, etc. My favorite brand when it comes to home fragrance oils is Slatkin and Co.
